During the 2019-nCoV pandemic, the internet became the sole artery through which the economy could function. Thus, corporations and individuals relied on computer repair technicians to keep their business afloat. From June through December of 2020, I performed this critical function by running a branch of popular computer-repair shop i Fix Your i for 4-5 days every week. Typically the only employee present at the store, it was my job to repair all makes and models of consumer electronics: including smartphones, laptops, desktops, tablets, and more.
During my internship at FiOS 1 News in New York, I had the opportunity to work in many departments including TV engineering. Often, the television engineers would pull me aside to assist them in their constant work of maintaining the station’s computer and broadcast infrastructure. Work included computer upgrades, set installation, satellite calibration, tape-digital archival, and more.
